Once the army receives troops from Judith at the Valley of Torment, she gives Byleth a letter from Claude. If Byleth chooses to lead the Black Eagles and then chooses to stay with Rhea and the Church and go against Edelgard, they will lead a Resistance Army to stop the Empire and rescue Rhea.
